'A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find that after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.'
We focus on our journeys, they haven't been smooth, gone according to scripts or how we planned at times but the key part is you're still here. No matter what has been thrown at you on your way, tried to derail you and push you aside, you've made it through and still have the focus and desire.
Times can be tough, we can see where our journey has been turned around due to personal road works and where we have found alternative routes to flip it again. There's no sat navs, the map keeps changing and even through the darkest times we guide ourselves to the light with or without help.
We underestimate our abilities and often forget the importance of these simple moments. A day that has taken us down and put us low, it could last longer or shorter but we survive it, we awake the next morning, the next week or whenever it might be and rejoin our journey forwards.
Hiccup - an involuntary spasm of the diaphragm and respiratory organs, with a sudden closure of the glottis and a characteristic gulping sound.
I like to think this applies perfectly to our journey , it's an often involuntary setback we face, they can occur at anytime, and last for seconds, minutes or longer on our journey but we bring out are inner strength to return to the norm and continue.
You've made it this far so keep on going..
