"Knowing your purpose may compel you to take on challenges that will stretch you as much as they inspire you. Just as a boat under power can handle any size wave if perpendicular to it, when you’re powered by a clear purpose, there is little you cannot do."
The last blog spoke about your purpose and how it feeds your hunger to shape your future. This blog will focus more on finding the 'WHY' within your purpose and the creation of the correct environment to cultivate the why!
Have you ever felt down, lost and unsure of how things are going? I'm sure you have and you won't be the only one. Now as we move further away from our internal why, we change our EMOTIONAL STATE and start to draw negativity from our environment. As I speak about environment, this isn't a focus on the physicality's of our world, house, car etc.. this is a focus on our EMOTIONAL ENVIRONMENT and how we are viewing life from the mind and sub conscious.
Our EMOTIONAL STATE defines our moods, our focus and how we see our future shaping out. To fine tune this we need to have our 'WHY' clear and at the forefront of our minds.
Well, what does? Reflect within yourself as mentioned above and connect your knowledge with your attention and passion, find that activity you believe links these altogether. When you undertake this activity do you feel truly driven to succeed in it? Does it draw your focus and centre your mind? Create that calming yet desired effect and make you feel your growing?
What do you have as your natural talents? Are you creative? A gifted communicator? Problem solver? Find where your innate strengths are and these tend to provide that impelled sense within you to do more and aspire to greater things! You may have many natural talents, but you should find that passion will outline the talents of your 'WHY'. Do you find that a lesser talent is your true passion? Without hard work talent can stand for nothing, the fire burning behind your desire will account for the difference!
When you follow a half hearted path, we often find a wall in the maze. How you want to measure your life will straighten the path. Now this is the skill of living and following your purpose, focusing on those 'things' that matter most, which usually we find to be intangible. This can be difficult, working that job you don't like as ends need to meet could seem like a blocker to this, but a change in mind can overcome the obstacle! Shift the way you view what you do, find a greater meaning to it through HOW you do it, and your attitude towards it!
Tim Robbins speaks about an idea that we have SIX human needs; Certainty, Variety, Significance, Connection/Love, Growth, Contribution. From these they breakdown into FOUR EMOTIONAL drivers (red) and TWO SPIRITUAL drivers (green), to reach true fulfilment we must meet the needs of our spiritual drivers and take the step to empower our lives. Without a satisfaction of these, we become dysfunctional, unproductive and settle for comfort.
We deserve better than comfort, so look to EMPOWER yourself at every opportunity.. grow into the person you were born to become!
