My Story - Background

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” - Dan Millman

As mentioned in the welcome post this will now be my first personal blog posting, exciting and slightly nervous! I've never been a big fan of posting my life online, but I think it's important for me to do so now, to give you some background about myself and how I got to this part of my journey.

I'm 23 coming upto 24, worked through the education system of GCSEs, A levels and then onto University at Hallam in Sheffield, and haven't looked back since. Had a great 3 years at Uni, living the usual student lifestyle and finding that my degree wasn't necessarily what I had wanted to do but hey ho it's a superb bit of paper to have!

I then got my first 9-5 (supposedly!!) grown up job and confirmed months into it that the office environment wasn't one for me. It was a great first job to have, it was in a field I was interested in which helped me through the work, and I found that my confidence grew on a day to day basis (which was hugely important for me) but I fell into the trap of settling and putting up with what I had. During my time I had some highs and lows like everyone does at work, but around November last year I hit a real hard time, I lost my way and turned my back on my own principles. Work was becoming unbearable, an injury stopped my fitness progression and damaged me psychologically, I hated getting up in a morning and facing the day ahead.

Luckily, one day I woke up, I know the metaphorical look in the mirror might sound daft but it was as if it happened and my brain hit reset. I realised what am I doing?? I'm better than this and I need to get back to that mind state, I did. I got over my mental block and back on my fitness path, I looked into my passion and took the leap of faith to get my training qualifications, quit my job and start a new for myself! So here I am, new start, new business, for me, based on my passion of fitness - the mind and how they work together, and how I can use my tools and experience to help you get to the right state for you!

Change is scary, but it is necessary and should be embraced with both hands. If it isn't then change will happen anyway but it will take you into the direction you don't want to face as I experienced.

So that's a bit about me and how I got to here, hopefully you can at the very least take something away from what I've written.
